Mr. Shawki brings over 20 years of industry experience to Orascom Telecom. In his role as Innovation and Partnership Officer, Mr. Shawki is responsible for the vision and roadmap behind the Group’s product and service innovation. In addition, he is also the Group's lead on partnerships and alliances required to sustain Orascom's long-term strategic objectives. Hesham has a track-record in building organizations from the ground up to market leadership and commercial success. He has also pioneered and launched a vast array of products and services in the US hub of innovation "Silicon Valley". Most recently Hesham was Founder and CEO of AddKick Inc., a U.S. based online advertising SaaS/cloud platform for digital media traders. Prior to AddKick, Hesham was a very early member of the executive team of Obopay - the global leader in mobile payments. As Vice President of Product Development & Services, he played an instrumental role in starting up operations and soon after launching mobile financial products with leading global organizations such as Citibank, Master Card, Verizon Wireless, and Société Générale. Previously, Hesham held various management positions with both startup and public companies during periods of cutting edge innovation and rapid growth. Success stories in the U.S included Netscape Communications, Shoretel, and Siebel Systems. Mr. Shawki holds a BSc in Engineering from the University of Tripoli, in addition to multiple US patents in mobile payments and mobile advertising monetization.
