Mr. Ashraf Halim is the Chief Commercial Officer at Orascom Telecom, spearheading the commercial department in setting group commercial strategies and ensuring the alignment of OTH subsidiaries to the group objectives as well as monitoring their commercial performance. He sets the value propositions across the board in product development, tariff design, sales & distribution. Ashraf joined Orascom in 2007 as director for commercial strategy and brings 22 years of commercial and management experience of which 19 are in the telecom industry. Prior to joining OTH, Ashraf held the position of Marketing Deputy Director at Mobinil (Egypt’s leading Mobile Operator) where he was responsible for Strategic Marketing, encompassing market strategy, products & services pricing, commercial budget, research, and competitive intelligence. In this capacity, Ashraf led the planning & implementation of various successful key strategic commercial initiatives for Mobinil. Prior to joining MobiNil, he held several commercial positions with Lucent Technologies in both Egypt and the UK. In the UK, he was in charge of Lucent GSM Business development for the Middle East and Africa. Ashraf holds a BSc. in Engineering from Cairo University.
